Cartagena

We took a taxi van tour ride with 8 others into the centre of Cartagena. Our guide with Oscar.

We drove to the old walled city, where former dungeons are now shops selling local crafts and artifacts. We stopped at a fortress (Castello San Fielipe de Barajas) where many street venders were trying to pawn their wares. The fort was fantastic! Denise bought from the venders. Went to an emerald museum and factory - which was very interesting. Drove past lovely beaches where people had tents up to protect themselves from the intense heat of the sun. Beautiful old buildings in the downtown with balconies and lots of flowers.

The day in Cartagena was to short.
